Our story

Hartwell & Moss began in a spare room in 2019 with one scent, one supplier, and a folding table.

Ella Hartwell was a chemist; Sam Moss restored furniture. The first candles were Christmas presents that got out of hand. By 2021 we'd taken a unit at Kelham Works, and by 2023 there were seven of us — potters, pourers and one very patient bookkeeper.

We don't do drops, hype or artificial scarcity. Things are in stock when they're made, and out of stock when they're not. Every product page tells you who made it and what it's made of.
